COSMETOLOGY PROGRAM
Cosmetology is a popular career choice for people who are interested in helping others look and feel their best. Harris Hands Barber College train students to become licensed practitioners in the field of Cosmetology.
Students are required to complete fifteen hundred (1500) clock hours of instruction and training as outlined by the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers. Each student must complete a course of at least eleven (11) months and fifteen hundred (1500) clock hours as follows:
- 280 total hours of training is required before the student is allowed to render clinical services on live models.
- When a student has completed the first 300 hours (as written under #1 above), the school shall complete and submit a signed and notarized statement to the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers stating the student is prepared to progress to the clinic floor and perform clinical services on clients.
- After a student has been certified as detailed under # 2above, student shall receive instruction totaling 1220 clock hours, including the appropriate theoretical clock hours required.
